Scheduled Airlines

Alitalia

  • Alitalia is the flag carrier of Italy and was founded on 12 March 1999 as Trattamenti Termici Solbiate s.r.l..
  • The airline has its main hub at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome. Its secondary hub is located at Linate Airport in Milan.
  • The airline operates a fleet of 93 aircraft and flies to around 100 destinations around the world.
  • Although being a major airline in Italy, Alitalia has been struggling for years and has been at a loss for many years now.
  • Since March 17, 2020, the government of Italy has taken full control of the airline.

Air Dolomiti

  • Air Dolomiti is a regional Italian airline founded on December 30, 1989. However, after several investments, it’s now a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa airline.
  • Air Dolomiti has main bases at Munich Airport and Frankfurt Airport in Germany. It operates a number of routes to several Italian destinations from these bases.
