Airbus Delivers 70 Aircraft in March Amid Production Ramp-Up Efforts
Airbus delivered around 70 aircraft to customers in March 2025, representing an 11% increase compared to March 2024.
This marks a significant jump from February 2025, when the European aircraft manufacturer handed over just 40 jets to customers. Its monthly progress report is scheduled for release next week.
Key Points
- March deliveries are 75% higher than February's 40 units and 180% higher than January's 25 aircraft
- Airbus aims to deliver 820 jets in 2025, a 7% increase from the 766 aircraft delivered in 2024
- Current backlog stands at 8,652 aircraft as of February 2025, with nearly 89% being A220 and A320 family narrowbodies
- Supply chain constraints continue to challenge production increases, particularly for the A350 program
- Recent significant order from BOC Aviation for 70 A320neo Family aircraft strengthens future delivery pipeline
What It Means
The delivery surge suggests Airbus may be overcoming some supply chain hurdles that have constrained production in recent months.
Though, its 2025 target of 820 deliveries is still below its pre-pandemic record of 863 jets.
